I've been following you for a while now, and I absolutely adore your blog. It's really beautiful, and you seem like such an interesting person judging from what you post. I haven't spoken to you before, at least, not that I remember, and I am trying to make friends with everyone who I follow. Do you consider yourself Wiccan or Pagan? How long have you been interested in it, and how did you get involved in it? Where are you from?
psh, I’ve been following YOU for a while now! thank you though, it’s a big compliment that you think so.
Well, Wiccanism IS a pagan religion. It’s just another one of many under the pagan umbrella. I follow witchcraft, both the life path and the pagan belief system. There’s a common misconception that witchcraft itself is purely a pagan religion, and that’s not necessarily true. You can practice witchcraft and NOT be a pagan. Now this is probably gonna light some fires but… You could actually be a Christian and practice witchcraft if you can believe that. BECAUSE… the basics of witchcraft is a way of life, not really a belief system. I just happen to marry the two. My pantheon of gods that I follow are mainly Celtic and Greek with some Egyptian, but I’ve also been discovering some Norse as well. I also dabble in kitchen witchcraft, green witchcraft, hedge witchcraft, and a couple other things. I do have some Wiccan beliefs in there but not too many.
How long have I been interested in it? Gods, um, ever since I could remember really. I was raised a combination of Anglican, Irish Catholic, and Presbyterian. But I was always into watching magical tv shows, reading kids books about magic and sorcerers, then as I got older I started reading books about world religions and ancient religions. It helped that family members are pagan also, or atleast have accurate information about them and arent prejudiced against them. Once I started reading about world and ancient religions, I guess finding witchcraft was a natural evolution as was the further investigation of witchcraft. I fell so in love with the way of life that I started practicing and I havent looked back since. I started when I was around 12-13? Maybe younger.
I’m from New Mexico. I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and lived there until I was 6 and then my family and I moved to Arizona. I’ve lived in Arizona ever since, I love it here. Yeah, it gets hotter than the asscrack of hell in the summer, but it’s absolutely beautiful here. Then every summer since I was 4 until I was 18 I spent in San Antonio, Texas with my grandparents so I call that home too.
Hey! What's the name of that reporter from that link you posted on YouTube (if you know)?
